About the event
An unpicking of the stress response and how it affects digestion & triggers IBS. We wil begin with a belly softening breath and guided meditation before moving onto the science of stress, a deep dive into how to utilise breathwork to release the symptoms of IBS. Literally learn how to use your breath and a self-care mindfulness practice to halt that toilet urgency.
The workshop is led by Ella Norman, a holistic practitioner and mindfulness coach who has personal experience with chronic IBS. Ella's IBS journey began aged 6 after experiencing childhood stress, and in her teenage years and early 20's she was completely crippled by it. From a young age Ella learned to harness her breath and focus the mind to settle cramps and an urgency to run to the loo. Using her proffesional and personal experience, Ella now coaches people with IBS how to adopt a holistic approach to reducing the symptoms of IBS. We will touch on eating habits, supplements and self-care disciplines plus coaching on how to massage out constipation and reconnect with your colon. There will be an opportunity to discuss what has worked for you, and connect with people who have a shared experience.
Workshop is 2 hours, hosted at The Pink Room. Numbers are limited to 6 people and lateral flow testing (at home) will be required before the event, masks optional once seated. The Corn Exchange doesn't open till 10:30 so access is through the door next to OWT by the main entrance.
